Jugal Himal trek

Jugal Himal trek is a unique trek which lies to the north east part of Kathmandu valley and is called either Jugal himal or Panch Pokhari (five Lakes). This is a famous holy place for Hindus and remains relatively unspoiled as compated to other trekking destination in Nepal. Naturally, we will see long range of mountain views during this trek. The end part of the trek will take you to the close view of Jugal Himal and Gauri Shanker Himal.

Day 1
Kathmandu – Sundarijal – Chisapani (2591m.): Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal about one and a half hours. Than begin the trek about 5 hours.
Day 2
Chisapani to Gul Bhanjyang (2141m.): Jugal Himal trek starts from here. This day we trek about 6 hours and  overnight camping.
Day 3
Gul Bhangyang to Kutumsang (2471m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp

Day 4
Kutumsang to Tharepati (3600m.): Trek about 4 hours passing through the rhododendron forest.
Day 5
Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2550m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 6
Tarkegyang to Sermathang (2693m.): Trek about 5 hours, overnight camp.
Day 7
Sermathang to Yangri River (2103m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 8
Yangri / Dukeng (2103m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 9
Dukeng / Nasim Pati (3612m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 10
Nasim Pati / Panch Pokhari (4054m.): It’s about a four hour climb on a well defined trail to Panch Pokhari, five holy lakes at 13,300 ft. There are two metal-roofed huts, a sheet metal enclosed shrine of Lord Shiva and a pile of cast-iron tridents. During the June/July full moon, thousands of Nepalese come here to worship. You should not wash in the holy stream near the temples. There is often snow on this ridge.
Day 11
Panch Pokhari / Gai Kharka (2530m.): Trek about 5 hours, overnight camp.
Day 12
Gai Kharka to Yarsa (2195m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 13
Yarsa to Phusre (2012m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 14
Phusre to Sheoli (1829m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 15
Sheoli to Chautara (1418m.): Trek about 6 hours, overnight camp.
Day 16
Chautara to Kathmandu: Drive about 5 hours to Kathmandu.

Jugal Himal trek also features stunning landscape, wilderness, forest of Rhododendron and many other flowers and incenses alpine forest. Jugal Himal trek will get you close to three ethnic groups of Nepal namely Tamang, Sherpa and Hyolmo and their tradition. We can get a real taste of Helambu’s apple, Bhotang’s potatoes, fresh yak cheese and butter during this treks.
